Hello My name is Misty,
I am a British Barn Owl and I have lived at the
Sanctuary Longer than any other animal I am about 14 years old.
I have
been seen on Rolf's Animal Hospital and any other time the sanctuary has been
on the TV, unless they were talking about stupid reptiles, but they should have
shown me too. I like the new centre better than the old one, here they let me
have a aviary that I don't have to keep giving up to house some waif and stray
bird. Very often at the old sanctuary I had to live inside the house, I loved
being with Gary and Jane but some of their friends were odd.
I am so
well behaved that I have also been the most used bird for talks and
demonstrations, but I have in the last 3 years found a way out of this: I keep
laying eggs 2 or 3 clutches a year. They let me sit on them, but none have ever
hatched, it's to do with no male barn owl being involved or
something.
The people at this Sanctuary think they are very clever,
the got a very small but tall shed for my aviary and then used a toilet seat as
the hole for me to get in and out, so they call it the 'Privy
Aviary'.
I can fly loose very well (for an owl) but they don't push
me to fly very often because I would rather not, and they would prefer that I
am happy in a big aviary than to lose me.
I am the only animal in
this sanctuary worth Sponsoring or taking photo's of so when you have decided
to sponsor me please tell North Wales Reptile and Raptor Sanctuary, by filling
in the form below and sending back to Jane@nwrr.co.uk and she will tell you how
I'm doing.
Very kind of you to read my storey Misty |
